Magellan Collaborates with Cambria County

Colleen Flanagan Johnson serves as Magellan Health’s vice president of external communications. In this role, Flanagan Johnson leads the company’s media relations, crisis communications and thought leadership programs, while supporting both businesses and corporate enterprise functions in communications messaging and strategy. In addition, Flanagan Johnson helps lead Magellan’s community response efforts in the event of a natural or man-made disaster, which provide counseling services to individuals in needs, regardless of whether or not they are Magellan members. Prior to joining Magellan in 2013, Flanagan Johnson led the communications and strategy functions for several elected officials, including U.S. Senator Kay Hagan, U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd and Governor Dannel Malloy. In addition, Flanagan Johnson served as the communications director and chief of staff for one of Connecticut’s two public university systems. Flanagan Johnson is a member of the Connecticut Women’s Council, and has volunteered for the Board of Education Services for the Blind, the Connecticut Science Center and is currently a member of the board of directors at the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from the University of Connecticut.
