Paula Hensley, MD is a Board-Certified psychiatrist and serves as a senior medical director with Magellan Healthcare in New Mexico. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed publications on mental health topics including grief, bereavement, depression, medication side effects, and pharmacoeconomics. She has conducted clinical trials on affective illnesses, schizophrenia and medication side effects. As a voluntary faculty member at the University of New Mexico, she serves on the University’s Human Research Review Committee. She has over 20 years of experience in clinical medicine and has worked in academia, private health care systems that serve the community, and the state hospital, including the forensic unit. She has a deep commitment to serving the less fortunate, working for equality in the delivery of medical care, and improving outcomes for all individuals.
